The only way to get an accurate time was to do the same journey while subjecting myself to an equal amount of liquid refreshment (in the name of science) Unfortunately the gastro pub(Noel) was shut on the Monday I arrived so I had a very nice BLT in a cafe round the corner to keep to time.
From this data I deduce a 10:30 start for a 2:00 table at Noel would probably suit a larger group.
On Monday Karen and I cycled to the Melton Mowbray Show. It was nice to finally get a day off together and good weather. The show had a few surprises including bike jumps and a sheep show which was as amusing as it was odd. It was also a good test for my Urban mover's battery life as the round trip was the same distance as my planned commute to work.
Regular readers may have noticed an increase in posts recently. This is partly due to me finally getting on top of my backlog at work but mainly because of the discovery of an unsecured WiFi signal which I can access from the Cafe I eat lunch in. It's not coming from the cafe so whoever is supplying me with free internet, I thank you. This post is for you.
On bank holiday Monday we cycled to Braunston May Fair. I'm not much of a petrol head so I dont know what I am looking at here. Please feel free to comment on these pics if you think you recognize the cars.

After a go on the track I haggling a £250 discount by getting it straight from Urban mover at the Gadget Show Live. I finally managed to put my new electric mountain bike through its paces with a 20 mile loop of our local lake.
This route forms the first part of what will be a 26 mile commute to
Peterborough. The prospect of a 52 mile round trip was what made the electric option more appealing. Research at the Gadget Show Live revealed only the as yet unadvertised 2009 SX range of Urban mover quoted the necessary range for the journey. I will let you know if the new Panasonic 36V 9Ah Lithium Ion power pack manages to assist for two marathons one day.
Two years ago I quit smoking and I have just quit coffee. However there is one more habit which I need to break If I am to stay solvent while living in the country. It is my Gadget Habit. The low cost of living in Nottingham city without a car allowed me to satisfy this thirst easily. Now I'm a country living commuter I have no choice but to give up the Gadg.
I'm pretty sure this disposition is hereditary as I know my brother has a Gadget Habit and my parents Tech credentials are fairly solid too. Before I finally say goodbye to the shiny shiny I will be going on a pilgrimage of plug and play in the shape of a visit to the Gadget Show Live at the NEC where I will have one last indulgence.
